Franz Wittmann konnte bisher 79 Gesamtsiege feiern, davon 32 Erfolge in der Rallye EM und 1 Sieg in der Rallye WM (Rallye Neuseeland 1986). Einen einmaligen Rekord hält er als zenhnfacher Sieger der Internationalen Jänner-Rallye. Insgesamt 12 Mal konnte er die Österreichische Rallye Staatsmeisterschaft für sich entscheiden. Mit dieser Bilanz ist Franz Wittmann der erfolgreichste österreichische Rallyepilot aller Zeiten.
This Lancia Monte Carlo is the former rally car of the later austrian rallye champion Wilfried Wiedner. In 1979 it was run by Stig Blomquist in the Jaenner Rallye in Austria, who was leading in the rallye as problems in the car electrics forced him to cease. Later on the Monte Carlo found its way to Germany. Because of its rallye history there is even a (rare) model of the car existing made in Italy by Riva, later Meri kits.
